As many of you, we were saddened by the cancellation of IMEX. Next week we were all supposed to meet, greet and exchange ideas and inspiration on the busy and buzzing floors of IMEX. Our partners have been looking forward to it all year, and so have you, our dearest clients around the world.
We are all facing challenges of unprecedented dimensions and we hope you are safe and healthy. That is the most important thing.
Then, we had an idea. What if we could give you the opportunity to explore the Faroe Islands on remote site-inspections? And even better, what if you could control our movements in real time?
Via a mobile, tablet or PC, you can explore the Faroes’ rugged mountains, see close-up of its cascading waterfalls and spot the traditional grass-roofed houses and venues by interacting with our partners, hotels, venues and DMCs. – LIVE, we will act as your eyes and body on a remote site-inspection tour.
Perhaps you have followed Visit Faroe Islands Remote Tourism project. Your local host is equipped with a live video camera, allowing people to not only see views from an on-the-spot perspective, but also to control where and how they explore using a joypad to turn, walk ahead, go backwards and so forth.
The virtual site inspections will take place a few times daily on the 12, 13, 14 and 15 May. The Meeting Partners Network in the Faroe Islands will be with you and provide both inspiration and expert knowledge about experiences, venues and hotels.
We hope that visiting our remote islands through the eyes, ears and body of a local can bring joy and inspiration during these challenging times – and we, of course!
