Leonie Ashford – Business Events Bid Manager, Tourism New Zealand
Prior to joining Tourism New Zealand, Leonie worked with Air New Zealand for 14 years. Leonie was involved in the launch of Air New Zealand Airpoints, the airline frequent flyer programme, and for 4 years was the Manager of this critical area for the airline, focusing on customer service initiatives with an emphasis on customer loyalty, retention and recognition. A move to Hong Kong as the Service Centre Director with Cathay Pacific Loyalty Programmes for 3 years ensured that Leonie has a real understanding of top quality service delivery and incentive expectations across the Asia Pacific Region. Back in New Zealand Leonie took on the role of General Manager with the Christchurch & Canterbury Convention Bureau, with a specific focus to implement marketing growth strategies to maximise the economic return for the region from conventions and incentives.
In 2011 Leonie began working as the International Bid Manager with Tourism New Zealand. The role provides an opportunity to work with people who are passionate about their field of expertise and eager to share knowledge with others around the world. Leonie is in constant liaison with the conference and incentive industry throughout New Zealand to ensure the industry meets high professional standards and new projects and challenges are supported with experienced management.

New Zealand International Convention Centre
Callum has significant operational, sales, marketing and event experience, and over the last 10 years has held a number of senior roles within SKYCITY Entertainment Group.
These roles have included Senior Sales positions, GM of Hotels and SKYTOWER for the Auckland property and most recently GM of the Darwin, Australia property.
He returned to New Zealand to ensure the NZICC is operationally ready for opening in 2019.
With a background in sponsorship, marketing and events Lisa is well placed to understand the complexities of bidding for and delivering a successful business event. Before joining Auckland Tourism Events and Economic Development (ATEED), Lisa spent 16 years with Team New Zealand and the America’s Cup, most recently as Head of Marketing and Sponsorship where her responsibilities included procurement of sponsorship, building and maintaining long-term sponsor and partner relationships, development and execution of brand strategies with stakeholders and event management.
As Manager of International Bidding Lisa’s main focus is to identify, develop and lead strategic bid opportunities from both the domestic and international markets to win international business events for Auckland.
Mohamed brings a wealth of international and national experience to his role following more than 20 years in hospitality, convention and conference management, and marketing. He has worked in the United States of America, the United Kingdom and across New Zealand, starting up a number of successful restaurants and bars, and playing key roles in several large hospitality and conference venues. These include the Auckland-based Waipuna Hotel and Conference Centre – one of the New Zealand’s largest hotel convention venues. Mohamed has worked with the Millennium Hotels chain across the north and south islands. His previous roles include Director, International Business and Marketing for the Heritage Hotel Group and Director, Operations, Conventions and Business Events Sales for THE EDGE. As Director Auckland Conventions, Mohamed is responsible for driving all conventions and business events sales activities across the RFA group. He also leads and engages with key stakeholder and sector groups to drive tourism to Auckland and New Zealand. A qualified lawyer, Mohamed holds a Bachelor of Laws.
Graduating from the University of Waikato with a Bachelor of Management Studies in 1990, Campbell has spent the majority of his career working in the Tourism Industry. This has included working for major touring companies (APT Touring, Globus and Cosmos) in New Zealand, Australia and England. His time in England also included a period as the London Manager of New Zealand News UK. Upon returning to New Zealand from London in late 2000 Campbell has worked for several of New Zealand’s leading inbound tour operators (Southern World, Southern Crossings and now JCM Destination NZ). This period of time has allowed Campbell to develop an in depth knowledge of what New Zealand has to offer to international tourists be they high end leisure clients or operators wanting to put together upscale incentives and events. Campbell understands the exact needs of his clientele and has a great focus on detail. In his current role at JCM Destination NZ he is looking to develop further the Meetings, Incentive and Events market to New Zealand.
