Amparo has been a personal friend and a helpful colleague among Barcelona’s Meetings Industry for many years; she has recently changed to a new position at the Hotel Casa Fuster and we caught up with her on this new task!
- What made you decide for a change in job?
I have been working since 2007 at the Fairmont BCN, I got from them a full experience and would need a challenge both professional and personnel.
After two months working in Casa Fuster, I am feeling that I am at Home! It’s super nice this feeling. Every day I wake up and I am going to a place with full of history and authenticity.
- What are the main USPs of the hotel Casa Fuster for high-end events?
Casa Fuster is a unique Historical Building, a symbol of modernism in the heart of Barcelona.
The famous “Café Vienés”, has been a meeting point for important members of the city’s intellectual society such as the famous Catalan poet Salvador Espriu. Every Thursday Café Vienés transforms into an exclusive Jazz Club.
This privileged venue has seen the likes of many famous jazz artist such as Woody Allen and his clarinet, the Yoshida Brothers, Eddy Davis, the New Orleans Rag Trio, and The Barcelona Swing Serenades, The Doc ScanlonTrio, New Orleans Jazz Band and Biel Ballester Trio Gipsy Jazz.
The Noble floor – first floor – of the Hotel Casa Fuster is home to our Galaxó Restaurant, where the guests can enjoy a Mediterranean Avant-garde cuisine made with fresh seasonal products in a unique setting. It is more than a restaurant it is an experience to awaken your senses.
In addition, Casa Fuster has the unique privilege of being the only building to be situated at the highest point of Paseo de Gracia, giving its guests the opportunity to enjoy a panoramic view of the entire city. In addition, the guests can enjoy the gym with natural daylight, as well as the solarium and the possibility of enjoying a refreshing dip in the swimming pool located in the terrace.These unforgettable views will help to relax and experience Barcelona from a privileged perspective.
- Can it be booked for buy-outs and luxurious weddings?
Of course, we have max.capacity up to 200 pax in meetings and we have historical settings in our meeting rooms. They have natural daylight and are ideal for buy outs.This year we will be focusing to implement this offer, not only for local weddings, but also international weddings.That’s the reason that recently we have joined with Barcelona Tourism, a very interesting program to help promoting weddings.
- What spot in the property is your personal favorite?
Casa Fuster is the authenticity and the hall experience of history and culture together. Personally, I have two favorites’ parts of the Hotel. Firstly, Café Vienés has a very special and unique historic setting where the clients can enjoy a selection of exquisite cuisine, cocktails and teas. Following, my second favorite area is the rooftop. It has the unique privilege of being the only building to be situated at the highest point of Paseo de Gracia, giving the opportunity to enjoy a panoramic view of the entire city while I am taking some tapas/cocktails.
- What markets will you touch and develop?
I will be responsible for international markets and will be travelling worldwide and develop new strategies for each market. MICE & Leisure targets.It will be a super amazing opportunity to make Casa Fuster Hotel a landmark and spotlight Hotel within Barcelona.
- What do you look most forward to in selling the Hotel Casa Fuster to your markets?
To be honest, I would like to offer them a real happiness experience in Casa Fuster and to enjoy the whole process of booking and planning.
