Founded in 1949 by leaders of the UIA (Union of International Associations), FAIB (Federation of European and International Associations) strives to encourage new international associations to bring and settle their activities within Belgium as well as offer support such as legal recognition and facilitation of members’ actions.
On the occasion of its General Assembly on 14 June, the FAIB announced the following changes with immediate entry into force:
Adrian Harris, Director General of Orgalime, becomes FAIB President.
“My aim is simple – to help FAIB to achieve its core aim which is to support the very diverse community of international associations and their staff – industrial, banking, NGO and professional, for our common issues as organisations working in Belgium.”
Florence Bindelle, Secretary General of Europeanissuers becomes Vice-President.
“As a woman, I am very pleased to have been elected Vice President of FAIB. My goal is to assist the President and the Board provide pertinent services to our members. I will also promote FAIB with major stakeholders in Belgium and abroad, by developing new communication tools”
Fabrice Tabankia, Executive Director Finance and Administration of CEFIC, becomes Vice-President.
“FAIB will continue to represent the international associations in Belgium by strengthening its advocacy activities and by developing further added-value services for its members”
All three of them have an impressive background:
- Mr. Adrian Harris has been working in the engineering industry for over 30 years! Most of his experience has been within the agrifood sector of engineering. Since the late 1990s, Mr. Harris has been working with international associations.
- Ms. Florence Bindelle has abundant experience in the risk management sector. During her career spanning over 20 years, she has mostly worked along side international associations.
- Mr. Fabrice Tabankia has experience in a number of different sectors including finance, global technology programs and project management. During his career he has been able to work for a number of different associations and companies including GE Plastics and CEFIC (The European Chemical Industry Council).
Upcoming Events:
FAIB Members: Currently, EUCASS – European Conference for Aeronautics and Space Sciences, is holding their 7th conference in Milan at the Politecnico di Milano – Campus Bovisa until July 6th! Topics such as flight dynamics and propulsion physics will be discussed at the conference.
Although only considered an informal partnership, FAIB members will be offered a reduced entry free to the British Chamber of Commerce in Belgium’s workshop on November 8th. This workshop, lead by Christine Reijnders from The Leadership Trust, will help you discover your communication style and how to use it to your advantage.
FAIB: On September 28th, Koan Law Firm partners, Jan Decorte Antoine Druetz will speak on general data protection regulation at a lunch debate open for FAIB members and non-members. The exact venue has not yet been released, but the event will take place in Brussels. Make sure to register your interest by September 15th! Two more lunch debates will follow in October and November.
FAIB MICE: From September 5-6th, the Iberian MICE Forum will take place in Cartagena Spain. During October, FAIB members are invited to join “Destination Incentive” in Toulouse France from the 12-13th.
