Gain a head start at IMEX in Frankfurt with EduMonday
“As part of our mission to deliver value and experience ‘beyond a tradeshow’ we’re increasingly focused on ensuring we meet the professional development needs of both buyers and exhibitors in creative and meaningful ways. And they’re hungry for more learning and industry insight! This year’s EduMonday delivers this, with a free programme of high quality learning designed to inspire and give attendees an edge”,
Carina Bauer, CEO of the IMEX Group, introduces EduMonday, an afternoon of carefully-curated education and workshops taking place the day before IMEX in Frankfurt, 12 -14 May.
EduMonday takes place on Monday 11 May, launching with the keynote at She Means Business, created in partnership with tw tagungswirtschaft and supported by MPI. Attendees can then stay and be part of She Means Business, celebrating and guiding the role of women in the events industry, or mix and match from a programme of general learning sessions designed around trending topics in both English and German.
Hands on experience and fresh thinking
Guy Bigwood, Managing Director of the Global Destination Sustainability Index, delivers the first session of EduMonday, presenting IMEX’s research – supported by Marriott International – and exploring the increasing importance of circular design and the circular economy. Bigwood will introduce the ‘ circular economy 101’ and demonstrate the path from theory to action using nature’s guiding principles. He’ll also provide case studies spanning products, services and businesses from outside and within the events industry.
Attendees can put themselves through the paces of a real-time crisis scenario with Glenn Schoen. This crisis management advisor, whose previous experience includes the Olympic Games and World Cups, will deliver a fast-paced, immersive crisis workshop.
Tying in with IMEX’s focus on Nature, Ben Hoeksma from BCDM will discuss how to ensure a company-wide approach to sustainability in How to introduce sustainability into your strategic meetings programme.
Following its successful launch last year, the Red Lab returns, delivering fresh thinking and experiences from people outside the business events industry, all focused on how Nature powers, directs and informs business and event decisions. Colleen Murphy, Vice President, Global Conferences & Events at IBM – and also keynote speaker at Exclusively Corporate – offers her thoughts and insight into leadership. There’s also the opportunity to gain Level 1 in the Certificate in Event Design thanks to the Event Design Collective, sponsored by Caesars Entertainment.
EduMonday participants can also relax and recharge in the Be Well Lounge offering wellbeing sessions including meditation and yoga as well as quiet space to pause, reflect and digest.
The whole of EduMonday will take place in Messe Frankfurt’s Hall 9 this year, alongside IMEX’s Discovery Zone, Sustainability Village, Central Park, cafes and more. This proximity to the trade show floor is designed to make the attendee experience more seamless and enjoyable. It represents a bold shift in the way IMEX is curating and showcasing its experiential and educational elements.
Tailor-made learning
Event professionals from all sectors and all levels can explore topics and trends via a number of dedicated events within EduMonday. Association professionals from around the world are invited to Association Focus, to share best practice and connect with peers. The Agency Directors Forum is a strategic exchange for small to mid-size meetings and events agencies. There’s also education and networking exclusively for corporate/in-house meeting and event executives at Exclusively Corporate.
The next day attendees can then explore destinations, venues, tech providers and more at IMEX in Frankfurt from 12 -14 May. Business Events Sarawak, Tunisia, Hosts Global and technology providers such as Brella and Klik are just some of the exciting new exhibitors to meet. During the three days of the trade show, planners can meet with more than 3,500 suppliers from every sector of the global meetings and events industry.
