Last week I introduced our new storyline for Vilnius, interviews with local partners of the Vilnius Convention Bureau to find out what makes their company and Vilnius so special. Today, we spoke to Holiday Inn Vilnius‘ MICE Director Audronė Lapšienė.

1.  What is special about the Holiday Inn Vilnius – what is your strength when it comes to organizing a meeting or incentive?

For my team and myself, personal care, attention to detail, creativity and flexibility are the cornerstones for organizing any type of meeting or event. Working together with people that give you the full empowerment to do this makes it a special company. Personally, I feel extremely happy to work for my hotel and I think that this is probably the ideal basis to assist organizers in planning their perfect event.

2. What are the greatest benefits of Vilnius as a city in the eyes of international planners?

Vilnius is geographically at the centre of Europe, meaning it is easily and quickly reachable. The airport is located only 15 minutes away by car from the city centre. Vilnius, is probably the greenest of all European captial cities. It is located on the confluence of the rivers Neris and Vilne. It has a wealth of parks, squares, gardens and lawns. The fast growing economy is very visible in the sprawling Business district where meeting planners will find ample modern connference facilites with the historical old town still in walking distance.

3. What is your personal hotspot in the city? Where do you go on a weekend with your family to enjoy the local spirit?

It is hard to pick out just one favorite place or weekend activity as the great selection of museums, galleries and concert halls combined with numerous attractions and festivals makes Vilnius as a whole a year round vibrant hotspot.

On the other side me and my family always enjoy to visit some of the many traditional folk and art street festivals. The almost magical atmosphere and ambience creates the ideal setting where both local and international visitors come together.
